• Secured funding for those families who could not get a wheelchair due to assessment criteria.
• Campaigned and won to keep the Specialist Epilepsy Nurses.
• Campaigned and won to keep the Aspires Project for longer.
• Consultations on short break services in Cornwall.
• Had the Treasury and Dfes visit Cornwall, this lead to us being named in the Aiming High for Disabled Children: Better Support for Families document.
• Produced a tips booklet for parents of a newly diagnosed child.
• Have established a good relationship with the LA and Health.

What we do and why we’ re here

Our aim is to gather information from Parent Carers and using these unique shared experiences, we take part in consultations and participation work which helps us to shape the development and delivery of services to our children. We also pass on information to families via a newsletter enabling parent carers to gain greater knowledge and understanding of the services available from health, education, local authority and the voluntary sector.
